GrittGene Therapeutics is looking for: Virus Production Scientist 

A qualified Virus Production Scientist will perform daily laboratory experimentation to successfully execute research-grade virus projects. This individual will be part of a manufacturing team handling high-throughput processing of viral vectors.

Job Summary: The responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Implement knowledge/expertise to successfully execute virus developmental projects for viral vectors (AAV, LVV, Adv, RVV, others)
  • Develop and confirm viral vector process including cell lines and downstream purification to ensure the optimized transition between teams
  • Work under the direction of senior scientists to promote internal research
  • Conduct independent process characterization and execute the operational procedures of viral vector productions to increase yield and quality
  • Work with Production to qualify and validate viral vector testing processes
  • Participate in decision-making processes within the project team by actively engaging in scientific and technical discussions
  • Build credibility within the lab group by performing high-quality work
  • Write, review, and revise production SOPs as aligned with updated procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum requirements (Job Qualifications):

  • B.S. in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field with 5+ years of experience, or
  • Master's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field with 3+ years of experience
  • Working experience with virus production and/or cell culture is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
